Lightscapade by Mac - Review.

Hi guys,

I have had so many amazing highlighters but, Lightscapade by Mac is my new favourite.
It is a mineralize skinfinish,  (basically a highlighter) it comes in powder form and has four different shades in the range: Lightscapade, Soft and Gentle, Gold Deposit and Global Glow. Lightscapade is by far my favourite because there is no highlighter like it. It has a rating of 4.6 out of 5.

You get quite a lot of product as well, 10g, and you barley need any on at one time because it is so pigmented that you only need to run your brush through it once to get the full effect, and it is so long lasting! No need to top up throughout the day.

I love the overall look of the product, the simple black packaging makes it look so sophisticated.
The main aspect of the product that drew me in was all of the different colours in it. It has pink, purple, yellow and golden tones running through the powder. It is an excellent edition to my makeup bag and , in my opinion, the holy grail of highlighters!

Here you can see the lovely packaging.

Sooooo many different colours going through it!

The pigmentation is unbelievable.

Overall I would really recommend this product to anyone and is in my top five mac products.

The Bomer Jacket, is a perfect way to style your everyday look! It can be chucked over any outfit, to add that rough and ready look. I am also a huge fan of khaki at the moment, so this jacket is perfect for me! This one is from Topshop for £55 (boohoo do one that is very similar for £20)

A- Line skirts are a great way to bring the 60's into your wardrobe. Pair them with a roll neck and a pair of ankle boots, and your good to go. Block colours are another big yes for this season. This skirt is from River Island and costs £35.

Forget about mom and boyfriend jeans, Girlfriend jeans are the must have for this season! They look great with anything, and can be dressed up, or used for everyday wear. This pair is from Topshop and they can be yours for £40.

Stripy tops! So easy, so basic and they look so good! Wear this with skinny jeans, girlfriend jeans or even A-line skirts. They go with everything. I found this one on the Topshop website for only £20.

Boyfriend coats are super cute, and so in this season. I love this camel colour for them, I think they can be dressed up and look good on trips out. Chunky heels and this coat, are a match made in heaven. This one is from Boohoo and only costs £20!

I am in love with this grey knit dress from Boohoo! I think it's perfect and a must have for your wardrobe. Pair it with a statement necklace to get the look. This one from Boohoo, is only £18!

Benefit - They're Real Mascara and Push-up Liner

Hi guys!!

So the other day I was lucky enough to receive the benefit they're real mascara and push-up liner in the shade beyond blue. My first thought was I will never use these. I am one of these people who has no idea why someone would want to wear blue or brown or any other colour bar black mascara but I am a huge fan of those products!!!

The mascara-
I actually have the They're Real mascara in black and I love it, it makes my lashes look super long and super volumised. So as you can imagine I had hgh expectations for this product and it met them! I really like blue mascara! I be honest I wouldn't wear it as only blue, I did put on coat of roller lash on top to make it wearable in the day, but I wouldn't say this is a must. Overall I would say this is a great product with easy application and lasts all day with no need of reapplication. 5/5

The Masacra

The eyeliner-
I had never used this product before but I had heard good things about it so I was very excited to use it. Oh my goodness... It is one of the hardest things to apply and get right first time! I must've spent a good half and hour trying to get it on my eyes! The easiest part was the wing which is very odd because for me I can never do wings, but that is a bonus of this product the angle of the pen makes it easy to do a perfect wing. But seriously I had no idea how I would be able to use it again, so I sat myself down and practiced, practiced and practiced (I had nothing better to do) and now I can do my eyeliner in about 5-10 minutes (normal time for me!!) I love the colour, (beyond blue) it's so pigmented and really gives something to your makeup, the eyeliner really made my eyes looks wider and it didn't move all day and I didn't need to touch it up at all! So overall I would recommend this product but just be prepared to watch a few how-to tutorials and spending a bit of a Sunday morning practicing the application. 4/5

Strobing

Hi guys

So I have just heard about this summers newest makeup trend, strobing! Forget everything you know about contouring and listen up.
So strobing is a fancy term for highlighting, but it's extra highlighting so it make your skin look fresh dewy and summer ready! Although it's a lot easier than contouring be careful, dewy and fresh skin can very easily turn into sweaty looking skin so, there are rules that need to be followed in order to perfect this technique. If you want to find out more carry on reading!

P.S if you want to try out strobing please post a selfie to Instagram and use the hashtag #alottabeauty and please follow me @alottabeautyx so you can keep up to date with my blog.

Rule 1-
Make sure you are using the correct shade of highlighter for your skin tone.
If you are fair skinned it's best to go for a champagne shade, try out the elf studio baked highlighter in moonlight pearls (£3.95)
For a light to medium skin opt for a pink champagne shade such as the maxfactor colour corrector stick in pink sports light (£8.99)
If you are olive skinned a golden tone is best, sun beam by benefit is a good one to try (£19.50)
For a darker skin terracotta shades will work best like the nars na pali coast (£30)

Rule 2-
Don't over do it.
Remember, a lot of shine on your face can make it look oily and sweaty! No one wants that! So keep it small and subtle so you can get the full effect of this perfect summer glow.

Rule 3-
Only strobe where the light hits your face.
Don't cover your face in highlighter otherwise it will look greasy, just the needed areas such as: your temples, cheekbones, top of your cupids bow and brow bones. If you have really oily skin or are breaking out try to avoid areas such as your forehead and other spotty areas.

Rule 4-
Use matte powders.
Because the highlight is shimmery use only matte bronzes and blusters with this look.

Rule 5-
Don't try to shape your face with it.
It won't work, trying to shape and freshen up your skin are two very different things! Please don't confuse them and I personally would say don't mix the two. Stick to minimal bronzer in strobing and minimal highlighter in contouring.

Thanks for reading! See you next week! Xo

April Monthly Favourites

Hi guys

so this month has been amazing, I had my birthday, it was the Easter holidays and I had a ton of extra time to find my favourites this month! I hope you all enjoy and as always please feel free to leave a comment and please share this post.

Thank-you

                     Charlotte xo

This is my new foundation, and I have to say it is amazing. It has a light to medium coverage, it is so light weight on your skin and it blends easy at. Only £7.99 it's a bargain!

James Bay is my favourite artist right now. His songs are just fabulous I can listen to them no matter what mood I'm in etc. Please listen to his album.

I got this Topshop denim jacket for my birthday, and I love it. I just love denim jackets they can make any outfit, I think they are a spring must have.

I can't stop watching vines at the moment. I love them, they are so funny. My go-to when I'm upset.

I got this Elizabeth Arden mascara for my birthday as well. I love it because it is extending treatment mascara so it helps your lashes thicken and grow whilst you wear it.

Lush! I LOVE LUSH! I was lucky enough to receive loads of lush things this month, and I can't wait to use them. To me there is nothing better than running a hot bath lighting a few candles and relaxing.

Shaaanxo is a beauty guru youtuber. Shan is absolutely amazing at what she does and I have gained most of my make-up tips from her channel, so please go and check her out. https://www.youtube.com/user/shaaanxo

EOS lipbalms are fab. As a lipbalm-aholic I have to say these are so of the most moisturizing full of flavour best packaged lipbalms.

I am in love with fairy lights. They just spruce up everything, shelves, bed headboards, put them in a mason jar anything!

Last but not least this Makeup Revolution Flawless palette. The shadows are so pigmented. All of the shades are varied as well. I love this product and the brand overall.
